Protocol Summary

EMule is a P2P software based on P2P technology and uses eDonkey protocol. EMule downloads files very quickly. More downloading clients, quicker downloading speed.

Communication

EMule use TCP port 4242 as its default login port.

If TCP ports 4242 is blocked, then eMule will try TCP port 4099, 4662, 4672 and other ports to connect. EMule supports SOCK4, SOCK5 and HTTP1.1 proxy server.

How to block eMule?

Because eMule can switch port automatically, so you can not block them only by disable the ports in the firewall. And eMule has no central server, also can not block it by blocking server ip address. So the only way is using professional tools to block eMule.
