Introduction of AIM,ICQ

AOL Instant Messenger (AIM) is a free, advertisement-supported proprietary instant messaging and presence computer program which uses the OSCAR instant messaging protocol and the TOC protocol. ICQ is an instant messaging computer program, owned by Time Warner's AOL subsidiary. ICQ was first developed by the Israeli company Mirabilis. It include sending text messages, offline support, multi-user chats, free daily-limited SMS sending, resumable file transfers, greeting cards and multiplayer games.

Protocol Summary and Ports Range of AIM,ICQ

AIM and ICQ use the same protocol oscar to communicate. The default port is TCP 5190. Ports 80, 443 will also be used. And proxy servers are also supported. From aim 6.5, aim is using tls for encryption.
